Construction Tenders Ireland

Irish public construction tenders are published on eTenders.gov.ie (the national procurement portal) and on TED (Tenders Electronic Daily) for contracts above EU thresholds. Contracts above €5,404,000 for works must be advertised on TED. Many are also listed on individual council and agency websites.

You typically need current tax clearance from Revenue, appropriate insurance (public liability, employer's liability, professional indemnity), SOLAS Safe Pass certification, relevant CSCS cards, and often registration on the Construction Industry Register Ireland (CIRI). Larger projects may require audited financial statements and a demonstrable track record of similar works.

The current EU threshold for public works contracts in Ireland is €5,404,000 (as of 2026, effective 1 January 2026). Contracts at or above this value must be advertised on TED and follow full EU procurement procedures. Below this threshold, national rules apply but contracts are still typically advertised on eTenders.

The timeline varies by procedure. Open tenders usually allow 30–35 days for submission. Restricted procedures with pre-qualification can take 3–6 months from notice to contract award. Competitive dialogue for complex projects (like PPPs) can take 6–12 months or longer.
