An Garda Síochána Launches €150m Body-Worn Camera Competition

This week's standout Irish public tenders — what to watch and where the deadlines fall.

An Garda Síochána has opened pre-qualification for a €150m body-worn camera and digital evidence management contract, the largest single notice visible this week, alongside a separate €50m body armour competition from the same buyer. Together they signal a substantial equipment modernisation push that suppliers will need to move quickly to qualify for.

Construction

Kerry County Council’s €31m N86 road improvement scheme between Ballynasare Lower and Ballygarret dominates the sector, with a long runway to its June 2026 deadline giving contractors time to prepare. Clúid Housing Association is also in the market for a contractor to deliver 22 homes at Skehard Road, Mahon, valued at €8.1m.

Defence

An Garda Síochána is running two concurrent pre-qualification exercises — a €150m body-worn camera and digital evidence management system and a €50m body armour contract — making this the most active week for Garda capital procurement in recent memory. Suppliers should note both are at PQQ stage, so the window to register interest is now.
