OGP's €1bn Microsoft Framework Dominates as Garda Body Camera Deal Hits €150m

This week's standout Irish public tenders — what to watch and where the deadlines fall.

The Office of Government Procurement has opened competition for a €1bn Microsoft Solution Renewals framework, the largest single notice in this week’s snapshot, while An Garda Síochána is simultaneously seeking suppliers for a €150m Body Worn Camera system with an integrated Digital Evidence Management platform. Together, these two procurements signal major long-term technology and security commitments from central government.

IT Services

The Office of Government Procurement’s €1bn Microsoft Solution Renewals framework, closing 2 July, will set the terms for software licensing across the public sector for years ahead and deserves close attention from any reseller or managed-services firm operating at scale. Alongside it, the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage is tendering an €8.1m GIS application development and managed-services contract, with a July deadline that gives vendors reasonable preparation time.

Construction

Trinity College Dublin’s €60m redevelopment of Cunningham House at Trinity Hall in Dartry is the standout construction notice, though no deadline has been published yet. Cork City Council’s €15m Docklands to City Centre Road Network Improvement Scheme closes 26 June, making it the most time-sensitive opportunity for civils contractors this week.

Defence

An Garda Síochána has issued two significant pre-qualification notices: a €150m competition for Body Worn Cameras with a Digital Evidence Management System and a separate €50m competition for Body Armour. Both are at PQQ stage with no deadline published, so prospective suppliers should monitor eTenders closely for the next stage.

Environment

Transport Infrastructure Ireland is seeking environmental monitoring services for MetroLink, valued at €26m, though no closing date has been published on the notice. Given the scale and profile of the MetroLink programme, firms with infrastructure environmental-monitoring experience should register interest promptly.

Professional Services

The Office of Public Works is tendering up to €5m in architectural services covering heritage conservation, National Monuments and intermediate projects, with a 1 July deadline — a notable opportunity for conservation-specialist practices. The National Transport Authority is also in the market for contact management and business administration services, though no value deadline has been confirmed on that notice.

Education

Donegal Education and Training Board has published a €20m framework for a broad sweep of business, financial, media and digital skills programmes, closing 29 June, which will appeal to training providers operating across the north-west region. The Irish Centre for Business Excellence is separately tendering a €2m framework for automation, robotics and cobotics programme delivery, closing 28 June.
